The governors of Gorran School are seeking to appoint an inspirational successor for our Headteacher who will be retiring at the end of the current academic year.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead a happy, high-achieving coastal primary school with a strong family ethos and a focus on rich outdoor learning. Ofsted recently praised our ‘warm and nurturing’ relationships.
With four mixed-age classes and extensive grounds that include a Forest School, a heated outdoor swimming pool and an on-site independent pre-school, Gorran School offers a distinctive curriculum enriched by our Cornish heritage, strong community links and the outdoors.
We seek a skilled and reflective leader to drive standards, champion inclusion and well-being, develop and support staff, steward resources effectively and work closely with governors and the wider community. Safeguarding and the welfare of children are paramount. This post will require a DBS check and references will be requested prior to interview.
This is a permanent, full-time role and the governors envisage the new Headteacher will have a 40% teaching commitment.
